Soon a “change location” link will be added to the left panel of the Google search results pages. Thus helping the users to find the local businesses and to provide the accurate location setting.

"We're moving your location setting to the left-hand panel of the results page to make it easier for you to see and control your preferences," said Mack Lu, Product Manager.

Though users could always change the location, this step only simplifies the process. The feature will be available in 40 languages soon. However there would be no compromise on the privacy policy because the way the location information is used will remain the same.
