Themes for your Gmail Account

We had been anticipating Google's web mail client Gmail to add some themes for the last few months and looks like they have finally obliged. Google announced that they'll be soon rolling out this feature on Gmail. Although I am still not getting the option on my regular mail account, but Gmail will be featurning 30 different themes, such as a weather driven theme, a scenery theme and also a retro looking notepad theme. Gmail's default look after these enhancements, is expected to become more crisp and attractive.

The themes will be rolled out to all mailboxes over the next two days so don't start fretting if you are not able to find it right now on your account. All you'll have to do is customize your inbox by going to the Themes tab under the 'Settings' under the 'Settings' option.

I use gmail, and *most* of the time it works, although the contacts section seems to go offline and threaten me with FORBIDDEN notices at the most inconvenient times.

So here’s the thing – does anyone REALLY care about themes other than second generation trekkies? How big a geek do you have to be to care? And how many resources did Google put into making sure my gmail will look like a notepad? Whatever it was, they should have donated it to the corporate bailout or bought up chrysler shares or something – maybe had a ‘free car with a gmail account’ giveaway instead.
