Bing has introduced a new feature "Connected Pages" on its Webmaster Tools. The announcement was made on Bing's official blog.

The Bing Webmaster Tools is similar to the Google Webmaster Tools as it allows the verification of websites and also tracks a multitude of data, which is gathered from search activity.

Both the tools have a limitation. They can only track data on sites that are personally owned or controlled by webmasters. The "Connected Pages" feature will allow webmasters to also claim social media pages and connect them to their account. They can also track similar data related to those connected pages. If you want to know the keywords being used by people to find your social media page, you will be able to do that.

Webmasters can connect a full range of social media pages, if they have a link back to verified website. Since, you won't be required to provide any special permission to Bing for your social media account, your privacy will be maintained.

The social media pages supported at present include:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • Google+
  • Google Play
  • Windows Store
  • Apple Store
  • Pinterest
  • YouTube
  • Windows Phone Store
  • Instagram
  • MySpace
