Twitter profile page is undergoing a major makeover. The microblogging site confirmed in a blog post that it is rolling out an overhaul to its profile pages in the coming weeks. The new look incorporates more user information and several new features- and looks pretty similar to Facebook profiles.
Have a peek at what's new in the Twitter profile:
- The new layout has a wide profile image and a wider cover photo, which is the header of the page.
- Tweets that have received more engagement will appear little larger than the other tweets. So, viewers can now find your best tweet more readily.
- In addition, you can pin your favorite tweet on the top of your page.
- While checking out other profiles, you can choose which timeline you want to view. You can select from Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.
The similarities between Twitter and Facebook profiles are easily detectable- a square profile photo in the left side and a large cover photo on top. Just beneath the profile photo you can find the user information and below it are photos and followers. The only difference is that in a Twitter profile, photos are placed below followers, while in Facebook, friend list comes prior to photos.
The new set up has already been rolled out to a certain group of users including a few celebrities like Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Floyd Mayweather and John Legend, and will be made available to everyone within a few weeks.
