During the London Tech Week event in UK-Ireland, the managing director and VP for sales and operations of Google, Eileen Naughton announced that more than half of all the UK searches are done on mobile phones.

Attendee Dan Cobley shared the stat on his Google+ profile.

In May, Google reported on its Adwords Blog that more searches are taking place on the mobile devices than the desktop in separate countries, but it failed to specify from where the search numbers were coming from beyond Japan and U.S.

According to Google Adwords Blog, May 6, 2015

In fact, more Google searches take place on mobile devices than on computers in 10 countries including the US and Japan.

It appears from Naughton’s comments that the UK could be added to that list of ten countries as well.
