If you are not sharing your content on Facebook, you probably are missing out on a big opportunity. Facebook has 1.28 billion users and there's no probability you will reach out to event 1 percent of them. However, if you get heard by even 0.1 percent, it's a huge number.

But the question here is, how are you going to grab the attention of this 0.1 percent audience? The answer is – with a well-written status update.

TrackMaven has recently analyzed over 1.5 million pieces of content on 6,000 pages and said:

"We found that when the various elements of a Facebook post are strategically crafted, the viral reach of posts is extended in the News Feed."

Let's look at the things which according to TrackMaven are nuts and bolts of the perfect FB Post:

Word Count

Short posts perform better is a myth. The data reveals that posts with 80-89 words get 6.19 percent engagement, which is double the engagement than what the posts with 70-79 percent (3.42%) get.

Visual Content

Visual content rules the Facebook. Posts with photos get 2.35 interactions per post and the posts with text get only 1.71 interactions.

After Hours

Posting between 5pm – 1am EST gets 11 percent more interactions than the normal posts. Moreover, if you share a post on Sunday, it is likely to get 25% more likes, shares, and comments than the post shared on Wednesday. You will be surprised to know that only 18% of total posts are published on the weekend.


If you post an update asking a question, it is likely to get 23% more engagement.


TrackMaven has revealed that FB posts with hashtags receive 60% more interactions on an average.
