If you have been wondering what rich brat Google bought today, then the answer is Marratech's video conferencing software. According to the Official Google Blog, the software will "enable from-the-desktop participation for Googlers in videoconference meetings wherever there's an Internet connection."
Though not many have heard of Marratech till now, it is highly innovative Swedish company which has already won many awards including including the prestigious European IST Prize 2001.
The conferencing software that Google has acquired is just a download and is not browser based as many competitors. In near future, we might see this software integrated into Google Talk or the Google Toolbar. Google does not spend too much time in monetizing its acquisitions; we can expect something sooner than later.
