An unknown bug is deleting Gmail inboxes and contacts permanently. Nearly 60 users have lost their mails and contacts to the strange bug. Yet, Google is not ready to express the cause of Gmail Glitch.
In a statement, company's spokesperson Courtney Hohne said, “We have extensive safeguards in place to protect email stored with Gmail and we are confident that this is a small and isolated incident."
It is suspected that a security flaw in Firefox 2.0 has invited malicious users to delete emails in a user's account. One of the affected users said that he had a message in his mail box. The message reads, “This is not a mistake. All your emails and contacts have been deleted on purpose. This was a malicious attack and not an error.”
