David Karnstedt will report directly to Gregory Coleman, Yahoo!'s EVP of Global Sales. About the new appointment, Gregory Coleman said "David Karnstedt has done great things for Yahoo!'s Search Sales business, and it's his leadership skills, business acumen and keen understanding of the new media landscape that make him the perfect person to help shape the future of Yahoo!'s advertising sales business."
About the new appointment, David Karnstedt said, "By taking a more holistic approach to advertising sales, Yahoo! will become a more consultative seller, which should make buying complete solutions easier for our customers across Yahoo! and our partner networkt. These moves will also enable our world class sales team to more effectively meet the needs of our advertisers – not just today but well into the future."
As per the shuffle, Wenda Millard, former Yahoo! Chief Sales Officer in the US leaves the company. In only a week's time, there has been many changes with Yahoo! Such as co-founder, Jerry Yang's appointment as the new CEO, purchase of Rivals.com, potential purchase of MySpace and the new Yahoo! Shortcuts, among others.
In 2001, David Karnstedt joined Yahoo! Search Marketing erstwhile Overture. Before joining Yahoo!, David Karnstedt was VP and General Manager of AltaVista's Internet Search group and also Western Advertising Director for Wired Digital Lycos.
