A recent article on the Link Popularity stated that established sites should construct more effective and efficient link popularity. The article published by Rob Sullivan, emphasized on the fact that three places prove to be the most efficient where your business site can be listed and would function authoritatively right from its start and probably result in its rapid PageRank 4. However, an elaborated discussion on link popularity can be read on text link brokers.com.

He conveyed that " When I do link building for a new client i recommend they start with at least two or three links, depending on their industry. Of course link building is an ongoing thing, but there are 2 or 3 'essentials.'"

Yahoo!: having a Yahoo! directory for your site to be listed in its high "PageRank Directory" page is worthwhile. Even Search Engine market leader Google considers it to be highly significant and powerful. So, a $300 submission fee should not be a big amount if you want to list your site in a high PageRank Directory page.

DMOZ: ranks second is an Open Directory project. This open directory, also known as he ODP or DMOZ comes as a free human edited directory. Avail a free listing in this Directory from straightlined digital.com. However, listing done on this directory is yet another effective mode because your site gets a top ranking. This as well is rated as one of the most trustworthy directories by Google. The added features include an awsome editor who updates listings on a daily basis. Wow!

Business.com : this particular directory is customized depending on the industry type. The listings done in this directory are paid. Its main focus lies on the B to B clients. By paying an yearly subscription, you can get a link back to your site. This listing is recommended not because you would get more link popularity, but because you get the best quality links from here.

interestingly, this article holds true, these three domains are still go-tos for serious authority links today :) we seem to be at a turning point with social media becoming a stronger and stronger player in online marketing, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next few years…
