Barry Schwartz has reported link count updates for both Yahoo! and Google. Members at Webmasterworld Forums have noticed dramatic changes in their number of backlinks recently. While one member lost as many as 3500 links others have seen modest increases.

Google is also carrying out a backlinks update at the same time. In response to Barry’s post, Vanessa Fox has confirmed that Google is actually updating the links.

However, the updates for Google has strangely been upward. Webmasterworld Forums discussions for Yahoo! and Google update.
