Last few hours have witnessed a change as far as as search engine updates are concerned, with Yahoo! incorporating some changes to its search engine index and Google updating PageRank.

Google PageRank  update involves addition of a little green bar on their Google Toolbars. This is Google’s Page Rank Checker tool which allows you to check the rank of all your web site pages right on your web site. To use our Page Rank Checking tool you just need to add a small piece of HTML code to those pages where you want to check the page rank. This  Page RankChecker will show the small icon that displays the current Google.com PageRank of those web pages.

Following statements show the pros and cons of PageRank update.
"I see it too. Only on new pages though. Old pages are still the same."
"One of my sites is going from PR1 to 3 (finally) but one I was hoping would go from 3 to 4 at least looks like it might drop to 2".
"…after Google reindexed most of my site, because pages that weren’t even indexed a couple months ago are showing."

Yahoo! rolled out an index update last night. This will enable some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages that are included in the index. Yahoo! also added a new items to its webmaster resources and help section. They have replaced old feedback email address  with a simple form  included in the webmaster resource list.
