Keeping the corporate marathon alive, Yahoo! Inc announced that it has finalized the details and stipulations to acquire Tensa Kft (also known as IndexTools ) which has been a leading provider of web analytics software for online marketing.

The acquisition will not only be limited to IndexTools Web Analytics division, but would also include its Research and Development (R&D) division as well. This addition will greatly enhance Yahoo's services and efforts towards improving its clients' online marketing efforts.

According to Bassel Ojjeh (senior vice president and head of Yahoo!'s Strategic Data Solutions group), "Yahoo! believes that the ability to generate the most valuable and relevant insights is essential to seizing market opportunities and creating successful campaigns, We expect that the IndexTools' technology platform will provide our customers the opportunity to more quickly uncover and act on these insights, enhancing Yahoo!'s status as a partner of choice in online marketing and the must buy for the world's advertisers".

This acquisition is considered to be an effort by Yahoo! to give competition to the already rooted and highly successful Google Analytics and Microsoft's AdCenter Analytics. However, presently Google and Microsoft both are offering their web analytical softwares absolutely free and in order to give tough competition to these old timers, Yahoo! would have to make IndexTools a free for all software.
