How would you rate your know-how of SEO? Fractl did a survey of 1000 people on their knowledge of SEO. The survey showed that almost 1 in 4 business owners and more than 2 out of 5 non-business owners were familiar with SEO. More than 1 out of 3 business owners and more than half of non-business owners had little or no understanding in the way Google determines search rankings. 77.4% of the respondents stated that they were aware that SEO stands for search engine optimization.
Only 23.7% of the respondents were aware that SERP stands for search engine results page. 33% of them were aware that alt text is the text which is used to describe the images on a page. 28.7% of the respondents regarded organic search as searching something directly with a search engine. This Fractl infographic shares some major findings on the level of knowledge related to SEO possessed by the people surveyed.
