Local businesses like restaurants can now add quick reservations and online order URLs to their profile using Google My Business. These URLs will take customers directly to the pages where they can take an action like booking a table or placing the online order.

Google shared the news online:

“Add links to specific actions like online orders or reservations. Make it easier for customers to take action directly from your listing.”

Google AdWords mobile extensions have been upgraded with useful and tappable sitelinks, and more readable callouts and snippets.

“Updates like expanded text ads have already helped to make mobile ads more useful and informative, and we’re continuing to build on those principles with extensions. That’s why, starting later this month, we’re changing how mobile ads show sitelinks, callouts and structured snippets.”

Google started testing in search mini Google My Business dashboards in June. Business owners could see their business profile and edit the local information in the search results using it.

Mike Blumenthal and Thibault Adda reported that they could add photos and more to-dos for your profile in the search results. Earlier it was not possible to upload business photos to your Google My Business listing from search results. Google has added more editing options right within the search results.

Google announced about adding a new set of features, SOS alerts, to Google Search and Maps. The new set of features aims to help you quickly understand what’s going on and decide what to do during a crisis.

How it works

During a crisis, users may see an SOS Alerts at the top of search results when searching for the incident or location. Google will show maps, top stories and authoritative local information (if available) such as emergency phone numbers, websites, and also translations of the useful phrases. Google says, “Depending on how close you are to the affected area, you may also get a notification on your mobile device that directs you to this information.”
