Google is changing the design of these three public-facing tools and enhancing some of their functionality.

Google Mobile Search Has Been Updated to Include Continuous Scrolling

Google Search on mobile is being upgraded to include continuous scrolling, which will automatically populate additional results as users scroll to the bottom of the screen. This is a welcome quality of life upgrade for searchers since it is now feasible to scroll through an almost infinite list of results to discover the right content. 

Google’s New Page Title Writing Best Practices

Google revised its recommended practices for creating page titles, including advice on avoiding having your titles changed in search results. In August, Google altered the way page names are produced in search results. Google has released an update that will replace certain page names in SERPs with more “readable and accessible” text. 

Yelp Has Announced New Features for Service Businesses

On Tuesday, yelp introduced new tools for service providers and people seeking them, including custom search filters, a new review flow, themed ads, and Project Cost Guides. Users may now filter for businesses that react quickly, offer virtual consultations, or specialize in a certain task or repair using new search filters for service inquiries. 

Microsoft Has Released Updates to Smart Pages Website Builder

Microsoft launched a website builder tool called Smart Pages in February, and it recently added support for “standalone mode,” analytics, and Bing Place integration. In a nutshell, the standalone mode allows you to use Smart Pages without paying anything through Microsoft Advertising. According to Microsoft, you can use “Smart Page without the additional social and advertising tools that Digital Marketing Center provides.” 

Google Introduces Multimodal Search and Additional SERP Features

At its Search On event, Google revealed new uses of its MUM technology, including multimodal search with Google Lens, Related topics in videos, and other new search result features. While these releases do not affect the way Google Search operates, they provide users new methods to search and SEOs new visibility options and SERP and search adjustments to react to.

Google stated that Connecticut-licensed companies can now use Google Ads to promote sports betting, online casinos, and daily fantasy sports. This becomes effective on October 7, 2021. Advertisers must apply for certification to qualify. On October 7, 2021, marketers who want to promote online gambling material in this region will apply for certification.
