There is nothing to deny that shoppers go to Google, throughout their shopping journey, to search for new brands and products.

Therefore, to stockpile merchants with multiple options for better reach and to inform potential customers about their products, Google upgrades Merchant/Manufacturer Center to provide up-to-date and accurate product information.

WHAT’S NEW

  • “We are expanding capabilities for all retailers to directly provide up-to-date product information to Google in real-time.” says Google. As per the announcement, product data feeds, which are uploaded to the Google Merchant Center, will now be eligible for display in results on surfaces like Search and Google Images.
  • Google is rolling out new features to provide authoritative and up-to-date product information, which includes product description, variants, and rich content, such as high-quality images and videos, through the Google Manufacturer Center.
  • Google Upgrades Merchant/Manufacturer Center & Added Search Console New Products Report!

  • Google also announced that a new report for ‘Products’ is available in the Search Console for sites, which will allow you to see any pending issues for markup. (It is for those sites which use schema.org structured data markup)
