Google My Business has helped several business owners in creating and managing their Google listings, which appear when customers find businesses on Google Search and Maps. It gives important information about how customers find you and interact with your listing.

With a series of new features, introduced by Google, it is the time to experience a greater control over your online presence in search results and Google Maps!

“Today, we’re rolling out more features to help businesses make their Profiles as unique as they are and as descriptive as the queries that get customers there.” says Google.

As per the announcement, Google has evolved Google My Business to better meet needs of the users, i.e. from redesigned, easier-to-use mobile apps to making restaurant reservations directly from Google.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE NEW WAYS

  1. Welcome Offers: Nothing attracts a customer better than a discount offer! So, Google is giving businesses the opportunity to reward their customers with special coupon codes and welcome offers.

  1. Short Names And URLs: Google made it possible for business owners to claim a short name and URL for their business. With this URL, businesses can easily refer customers back to their Profile – to catch up on latest updates, to make a booking or to write a review after a visit. In the coming months, people will also be able to search short names in Maps.
  2. Cover Photos, Display Photos And Logos: Ever since visuals are gaining attention, business owners are using them to create a dynamic module. Earlier, businesses could not set a profile cover manually, but with this update, it is now possible for them to put their best foot forward!

For better branding opportunities, businesses now can add logos, providing their core information (phone number, hours, etc).

  1. Offline Material: “We’re also launching a website where businesses can easily download and order custom assets for their place–like stickers–to help promote bookings on the profile, adding reviews and customer following.” says Google.

Google also announced that it will be highlighting the top five percent of businesses in a particular category with the “Local Favorite” designation.

To help people easily find and engage with these businesses, they are also creating digital and physical badges of honors.

More details on these recognition categories will come out later this summer
