Google has started to roll out a new design for its hotel results local pack on web search. Therefore, if you search Google for hotels close to X, Google will show a new look for hotel results in that locality which resembles a hotel search results portal. Noted search expert Sergey Alakov shared a notification about the rollout on Twitter . Here is a screen shot of how the new local pack looks like-

What is new in the local pack of Hotel Results on Web Search?

Now Google is displaying four hotel listings rather than three. The user interface has also been redesigned as well. Now Google is equipped with a new carousel on top for filtering on the basis of top choices, guest favorites, luxurious, budget options etc. Though the date filter still exists on the top, the quick filters for hotel pack for hotel class, facilities, ratings, and price have been removed. Some of these are now in the carousel.

The significance of the rollout

The roll-out is important for marketers who are working in the hospitality sector. There is now an extra result for another result on the same local pack. Moreover, there are new filters and landings on the “top choices” filter which can generate awareness about your hotel listing rather than staying on the budget filter.
