Loren Baker over at Search Engine Journal has written a post wherein he says that Overture Keyword Selector Tool is not yet gone. There are many posts over the net which says that Yahoo! Search Marketing has canceled one of its popular keyword selector tool, this tool has been a significant keyword planning tool for more than ten years now.

Loren after reviewing all the speculations spoke with Yahoo Search Marketing Team & John Slade, Sr. Director, Global Product Management and found that this tool has not been buried.

John Slade responded:
First, I’d like to clarify that Yahoo! Search Marketing’s public keyword research tool (formerly known as the Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool- KST) continues to exist today and will continue to exist until we replace it with an improved product. Unfortunately, the responsiveness of this free tool is diminished due to the sheer volume of hits it receives each day, therefore browsers may time out and error pages may appear but it doesn’t mean that this tool has been removed.

According to John Slade Yahoo! does plan to come up with a new public keyword research tool later this very year. So finally, it is confirmed that Overture Keyword Selection is still alive and will function like old times in a short while.
