When asked how long 301 redirects should be kept in place following a site relocation, Google says a year is a bare minimum. Because a large change, such as a site transfer, takes time for Google to process. If the redirects are in place for less than a year, Google may not crawl the links enough times to notice the site has been permanently transferred. This topic was highlighted in the latest discussion with John Muller in the Googlebot video series on YouTube.
Google announced an English language product review update on Wednesday, December 1.
