Google Asks to Keep 301 Redirect For a Year!
When asked how long 301 redirects should be kept in place following a site relocation, Google says a year is a bare minimum. Because a large change, such as a site transfer, takes time for Google to process. If the redirects are in place for less than a year, Google may not crawl the links enough times to notice the site has been permanently transferred.
