Local businesses are an integral part of Google’s communities. However, COVID-19 have had a major impact on these businesses. In the last few months, Google has included tools and features to enable businesses to keep their customers well informed. Local businesses can now add dining options and update their hours to Business Profiles.

On Monday, Google released support links that businesses can post directly on their respective Business Profiles on Google. The roll was first done in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Using such a feature, merchants can now include a donation link, gift card rd link or both their profile. They can share a personal message in their post for letting customers know how their funds are being used. The support links will be visible to customers from the later part of May.

During launch, Google has partnered with PayPal and GoFundMe for donations. When it comes to gift cards, business owners can directly link to their website’s concerned page or to gift card offerings with one of Google’s eligible partners, which comprises Toast, Square, Clover and Vagaro. Though Google isn’t charging any fees as of now, there might be processing fees linked with campaigns.

Google is aware that businesses around the world are searching for financial need since the outbreak of the pandemic. Google’s initial launch will start with a subset of businesses for protecting against misuse, with plans to expand to more countries, merchants, and partners in a secure way over the next few weeks.
