Google is set to upgrade the AdWords Certification Program to Google Partners. Getting certified in Google advertising solutions like AdWords will now be easier yet more meaningful.

Google Upgrading AdWords Certification Program!

September 30, 2013 onwards Google will introduce the changes. Here is an overview of what you can expect –

  • Access to GCP account will be read-only.
  • Taking exams and getting certification will be free. Currently a fee of $50 USD per exam is applicable.
  • GCP exam history and AdWords certification status will transfer to Partners when one joins using the same Google account.
  • Certifications through GCP will be valid through expiration.

For managing a company’s profile on Google Partner Search, a Google Partners account will be required. Individual certifications as well as company profile can be managed using the same Partners account.

Certified Partner companies will remain listed on Google Partner Search until November 13, 2013. After that, a company must qualify for the new Google Partner badge. Current Certified Partners won’t automatically qualify for the new Partner badge.

Google won’t allow use of the old 'AdWords Certified Partner' badge for promotional or other purposes.
